EFT, or the Emotional Freedom Technique, is an alternative treatment to both physical pain and emotional stress.

EFT is also referred to as "tapping" or "psychological acupressure". It is similar to acupuncture in that it focuses on meridian points to restore a balance within the body to help relieve physical or emotional pain. Instead of needles, such as in acupuncture, EFT uses the therapists finger tips to apply pressure to energy points along the body.

In EFT the client verbalises the problem with a statement. An example of this would be something along the lines of “even though I have this "name of the problem" I completely love and accept myself” and ALL treatments points are tapped in the order of top to bottom. This either lessens the pain, or completely stops the pain altogether. Tapping techniques and sequences vary depending on the issue that is being dealt with.

In the practice of TFT, tapping sequences vary compared to EFT. In the practice of TFT, you tap a specific sequence whilst the client thinks quietly about the problem. Both methods are highly effective with about 80% of clients recovering from stress, physical or emotional pain.
